Launch your MVP. Own what comes next.

Turn your product idea into a working application real users can use. Somnio helps nontechnical founders choose the first release, launch it in production, and take control of the custom code and next steps.

Scope My MVP

Your product idea, with an engineering partner

You do not need to become a developer to launch your product. You do need a clear first release, someone accountable for technical decisions, and a working application rather than a demo. Somnio helps you choose the core task your users need to complete, decide what can wait, and agree on how the finished release will be tested.

Senior engineers guide architecture, integration choices, code review and launch readiness. We explain the tradeoffs in plain language and show working increments so you can make product decisions without managing every implementation detail. AI-assisted development supports the work; AI features in your product are optional, not a requirement.

Your proposal defines the deliverables, acceptance criteria, assumptions, exclusions, price, timeline, production deployment responsibilities and handoff. General MVP projects are priced and scheduled individually. The published $20K starting price and 12-week target belong to our focused AI MVP package, not every MVP.

Upon full payment, you own custom code developed specifically for your project, subject to the signed agreement. Handoff includes source code, documentation and deployment instructions. Somnio retains its development methodologies and proprietary tools; open-source components remain under their respective licenses. Hosting, model/API usage and other third-party charges are identified separately.

Key Benefits

  • A first release focused on a useful task, not an unlimited feature list
  • Senior technical decisions explained in plain language
  • Defined scope, price and timeline before implementation
  • Production deployment, source-code handoff and documentation
  • 30-day correction of verified defects against agreed requirements
  • Choose an optional retainer, your own team or another development partner

Service scoping

How we define your project scope

Somnio starts by clarifying the business workflow, users, systems, data, launch deadline, and ownership expectations behind the service request. That keeps the proposal focused on outcomes instead of generic development hours.

A typical scope defines deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, weekly demo cadence, QA expectations, deployment responsibilities, and handoff notes before development begins. This gives clients a clearer path to fixed pricing and reduces surprises after launch.

What you can do at launch

Let users complete the core task

Build the agreed journey around real data: for example, creating an account, submitting a request, booking a service or managing a customer workflow. Accounts, permissions and integrations are included where the scope requires them.

Make informed product decisions

Review working increments with a senior engineer. Understand what a feature adds, what it costs and which risks need discovery before committing to the build.

Launch beyond a local demo

Test the core flows and deploy the agreed release to production. Define hosting, credentials, operating responsibilities and expected workloads during scoping; future capacity changes may need further engineering.

Give the next developer a starting point

Receive source code, documentation and deployment instructions. Confirm repository access, licenses and production account arrangements in the delivery plan so a qualified developer can continue the work.

Learn what to build next

Agree on feedback or usage capture where included in scope. Use what real users do to prioritize the next release rather than building every imagined feature up front.

Choose your ongoing relationship

For 30 days after delivery, Somnio will correct verified defects at no charge when custom code does not function as specified in the agreed requirements. New features, changed requirements and third-party service changes are excluded. Ongoing maintenance and development can be scoped through an optional retainer.

From idea to a usable first release

1

Choose the launch scope

Define your users, their core task, acceptance criteria and exclusions. Resolve uncertain workflows or integrations through discovery before committing to implementation.

2

Agree on the commitment

Review the project-specific price, timeline, dependencies, third-party costs and ownership terms. Set a feedback cadence and confirm who makes product decisions.

3

Build and review

Review working increments while senior engineers handle architecture, implementation and tests. Changes affecting the agreed scope are estimated separately before approval.

4

Deploy and hand over

Complete agreed QA, production deployment and handoff. Document how to run and deploy the application, then choose the next development phase if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

MVP questions, without the jargon

Do I need a technical cofounder to work with Somnio?

You do not need to write code. You do need to explain the problem, prioritize the first release, provide access to required systems and give timely feedback. Somnio handles the scoped engineering work and explains decisions for you to approve.

How much does a general MVP cost, and how long does it take?

General MVP pricing and timelines are scoped individually around workflows, integrations, data, risks and launch requirements. We define the commitment before implementation. The AI MVP package has separate $20K starting guidance and a 12-week target when its requirements fit; those terms do not apply automatically to general MVPs.

Does my product have to use AI?

No. A portal, scheduling product, dashboard or SaaS application may not need AI features. We use AI-assisted development where useful, with senior review. If AI is central to your product, our AI MVP specialization scopes data, model behavior, costs and fallback options.

Will this be a live product or just a prototype?

The MVP engagement includes a usable application and production deployment for the agreed release, not just clickable screens. Scope defines the core workflows, QA, hosting responsibilities and expected workload. It does not promise unlimited scale, regulatory compliance or every future feature.

Who owns the code, and can another developer take over?

Upon full payment, you own custom code developed specifically for your project under the signed agreement. Handoff includes source code, documentation and deployment instructions. Somnio retains its methodologies and proprietary tools; open-source components keep their licenses. Repository access and production account arrangements are confirmed in the delivery plan. You can continue with a qualified developer of your choice.

What is covered after delivery?

For 30 days after delivery, Somnio will correct verified defects at no charge when custom code does not function as specified in the agreed requirements. This excludes new features, changed requirements and third-party service changes. The signed agreement controls final warranty details. Ongoing maintenance and new development are separately scoped; a retainer is optional, not required to own the custom code.

What if we discover we need more features?

We assess the change against the agreed release and explain its price and timeline impact before approval. You can defer it to a later phase. The first release is designed to test a useful workflow, not guarantee revenue or customer adoption.

What should your first release let users do?

Bring your idea or prototype. We’ll help define a useful launch scope, the engineering decisions behind it and a project-specific proposal.
